Buying a cruise vacation used to involve making a visit your local travel agent and thumbing through a handful of brochures and chatting with the agent to find some of the cheapest cruises. The cruise industry has grown and now offers an almost overwhelming array of cruise vacation deals and prices. This makes it difficult to find the bestvacation deals. The January to March period is generally regarded as the cruise industry’s heaviest booking season and possibly the opportune time to secure some of the cheapest cruises. During this period, they will usually secure about 35 percent of their sales. This is when they offer the consumer some good cruise vacation deals. The current year may prove a little more difficult to secure some of the cheapest cruises. It is all to do with supply and demand. A few years ago, when large numbers of new cruise ships were being launched each year, only six new vessels have been launched in the last couple of years. This has curtailed growth in supply but demand is on the increase. Result, getting those cheapest cruises and great cruise vacation deals becomes all the more important.

Discuss with the cruise line agent about the specific cruises which interest you. Ask for any special cruise vacation deals and do not be afraid to ask for their cheapest cruises. Mention your age and state of residence, whether or not you are travelling in a group; mention if you have sailed with the cruise line before as this could qualify you for one of their select cruise vacation deals. Depending on the time of year you are making a booking you may be pleasantly surprised.
